Hands Up Interpreting and Consulting was started in December 2019 by Breanna Wood. Originally from San Angelo, Texas, Breanna has worked as an interpreter in the Concho Valley for 5+ years. Upon completion of her bachelor’s degree from Valdosta State University and Texas BEI certification in 2018, she began working as a full-time educational interpreter. She noticed that families with deaf and hard of hearing children were struggling finding answers, getting information, and making informed decisions. She decided she wanted to make a difference. Shortly after, Breanna discovered that the interpreting agency in the Concho Valley was to close its doors. Realizing the need and connection between interpreting services and consulting families, she decided to form Hands Up Interpreting and Consulting, LLC.
Hands Up Interpreting and Consulting, LLC started with only one interpreter, and now has grown to accommodate a team of interpreters and teachers. Our team members work for us to provide our clients with quality services.
We currently offer interpreting services for companies and businesses with Deaf and/or Hard of Hearing employees or clients, sign language group classes, and private lessons. We have also partnered with Howard College San Angelo to provide sign language classes that offer continuing education units (CEUs).
